Cahir Park Notes

U14 National Cup

Piltown 1 Cahir Park 4

Park started well and had threes good chances before Adam Hennessey opened the scoring with brilliant passing movement. Adam doubled the lead on the 25th minute. Evin O Regan made it 3 with the goal of the game beating three players and finishing to the top corner.

Piltown pulled one back just before the break.

Park defended well in the second half and had to withstand a lot of pressure from a physical bigger team. Evin completed the scoring 15 minutes from the end with a direct free kick. Well to done to the lads and thanks to the parents for their support after a trying pre-season.

U16 girls

Our girls travelled to Cashel today to face the tough task against a very strong Cashel squad. Cashel began very strong and dominated the game early on scoring three goals. Cahir on the 18th minute made great play when Emily Kirby sent a great pass to Robin Carey who hit the back of the Cashel net. Cahir came out in the second half with new determination and played great soccer. Today though was Cashel's day and we wish them the best of luck for the season.

Football for All

We travelled to Mallow to take part in a blitz last week and had a fantadtic day. Well done to the organisers of Mallow ffa blitz on Saturday. Both our senior and junior teams played 4 matches each. Well done everyone.

The U16 squad faced Forth Celtic (Wexford) today. 2-0 down at half time. The second half was much better and resulted in getting back to 2-2 with goals from Sean Reidy and Tadhg Velthuysen. Unfortunately soon after equalising, Celtic got a breakaway and the game ended 3-2 to the Wexford team. We wish them luck in the competition. This was the first competitive game for the 16's and after a sluggish first half, equipped themselves very well in the second which bodes well for the league campaign when it starts.

Let's keep up the good work started and keep moving forward.
