The National Free Wheel Challenge Tonight Sponsored By Cahir Media

The National Free Wheel Challenge sponsored by Cahir Media will take place on Friday August 4th. The challenge if from Bay Lough via the Vee down to Clogheen.

It was revived in spectacular fashion in 2016 after a 30 year break. All that is required is a roadworthy two wheel bicycle ( good brakes very important!!), no working chain allowed on bike, helmet essential and one deluded mind is also useful :)

Trikes are also allowed as long as they are roadworthy, with full safety gear.

Over 18's only. Helmets required.PPE.

Entry fee is €10

Registration is at Bay Lough car park from 7pm -7.45pm.

There are two catergories bicycles and non bicycles.

Prizes for 1st male and 1st female in Bicycle catergory and 1st non bicycle, all prizes kindly sponsored by Cahir Media.

Mass start, bicyle catergory will start first, shortly followed by the non bicycles.

The first 500 metres is slightly uphill, after that it is 5 miles down to the finish line at St. Theresa's Hospital.

So who is up for this unique challenge of thrills and spills, tag someone you think has the credentials to be the National Free Wheel Champion.
