U17 Celtic Challenge hurling

Congratulations to the South Tipperary U17 hurling team who became division 1 champions in the Celtic Challenge when they beat a Galway side last Saturday especially our two club men Nicholas Reidy and Stephen Grogan (pictured), the lads along with their team mates were unbeaten in this competition all the way to the final, this team made up from the west and south of the county done themselves and their clubs proud, and we are all very proud of these young men, again well done to Nicholas and Stephen two men to watch out for in the future.

Juvenile sports and fun week

Our very successful fun week starts this year on the 10th of July 2017 as usual it has all the bells and whistles and this year will be no exception with some guests to meet and have fun with all our young people during the that week the likes of Conor Sweeny, Ronan Maher, and Dan McCormack, to name just a few ,and no doubt many more will pop in over the week, it is building up quite nicely to make this year just as good as the other years, always a week full of fun for the young boys and girls of our club and also for kids not involved in the GAA but are looking to make new friends and be part of a team environment .

Happy birthday

Happy birthday to one of our senior players Ian Flannery (bunty) who is celebrating last week, (well one evening !!) from all in the club have a good one Ian.

Wedding bells

The club would like to wish, a long and happy life together, to our senior football manager and player Benny Hickey and the lovely Kym, who will tie the knot later this week, we hope it all goes well on the day for the both of you.

Our draw the joker game is still going well thanks to you all for the support. This week's draw was held in The Punters Rest and the following won prizes: Ciara Carroll, Eoghan Byron, Margaret Burke, Dermot O'Connor and Micheal Fahy. The draw will be held in Cahir House Hotel next Sunday night when the Jackpot will be €10,600 and there are only 9 cards and the joker remaining on the board.

Its summer time!

Where will our club colours travel this summer?

Well! Our theme is going well and we thank everyone for sending them in, We want your pics of you in your Cahir GAA top, new or old, senior, juvenile, camogie or ladies football it doesn't matter, boys and girls and yes adults as well, let's see where our colours go, eg. From Cahir to Cork, from Ardfinnan to Alaska and everywhere in between, just like the one here of Fiona McEniry, in Cambrils Spain So! Let's have those pictures, you can email them to and we will take it from there. Who knows we might even give a prize to the best picture at the end of the summer, Get snapping everyone!!,remember must be Cahir GAA colours, all pictures will be on our Facebook page during the summer thanks guys.

Ladies Football

Had luck to our U12 ladies football team who were second in the county “B” final last Sunday, the girls put up a great fight but it was not to be, heads up ladies ye made our club, your parents and yourselves very proud and your day will come, well done and thank you ladies and mentors of this team for all your hard work.

Camogie news

Well done to the U14 ladies (pictured below) who took part in the Regional Feile na nGael final in Ballyboden St. Enda's GAA recently a great day had by all, future looking good!!
