Stones missing from main bridge in Cahir

At a recent Municipal meeting of the Clonmel a Borough District Cllr Andy Moloney raised the question as to why so many stones have been going missing from the bridge in Cahir.

Over the past number of months it has been noticed that over 20 of the finest cut stones missing from the main bridge over the River Suir and nobody has seen them on the road or footpath so we can only assume that they are been stolen. The council have commissioned a contractor to look at repairs and will also look to erect a hidden camera to see if anymore will be lifted.

Cllr Moloney says anyone either information on the missing stones should contact the council as this stone is hard to replace.
