Cahir Tidy Towns Notes

The Cahir Tidy Towns group were out in force over the past week. The Proclamation Stone has been built between the Memorial Garden and the St Declan's Grove and we will arrange a date to raise the Tri Colour in the near future. The flag will then be flown on special days during the year.

With the recent spell of good weather we are able to start back working on the Grove itself and we would hope make steady progress with an official opening in June. There are a few trees still available to purchase but not a lot.

Edging of the footpaths continues around the estates and if any residents committee want assistance we will be glad to help.

We will hold our National Spring Clean litter pick on Saturday 30th April at 10.30am. Any residents group competing should contact the Chairman Andy Moloney to arrange collection of bags in your area. This can be done through the TT FB page or 0863609110.

We will also be attending the Cahir Business and community expo on the weekend of 13/14 May and would advice anyone with a business or group to get involved as this will be a showcase event for the town.

Finally, the first of the goslings have been hatched and fingers are crossed for their survival. Last year was not so successful for them but they fought off the first challenge of the bullying swan on Saturday morning in a fierce battle that sent Mr Swan back up river to lick his wounds.

Meet as normal on Wednesday at 7.
