The Coláiste Dún Iascaigh Open Evening

The The Coláiste Dún Iascaigh open evening will take place on Monday 30th November at 7pm. Coláiste Dun Iascaigh opened its doors for the first time in 1997. It is a modern, well-equipped facility on an extensive site, providing progressive, broad-balanced, fully inclusive education for the local communities. The Coláiste offers a wide and extensive range of subjects and offers lots of extra-curricular activities to suit every student. Academic achievement is a high priority in the Colaiste while offering excellent supports for students with additional needs.

The Coláiste has an active Parents' Association and Students' Council. Facilities in the Coláiste include general purpose areas, library, PE hall, demonstration room, general classrooms and specialist rooms for practical/technological/scientific subjects. A recent addition is the facilities for an ASD class. Outdoor facilities include all-weather pitches, playing fields and basketball/tennis courts.

The Colaiste's ethos includes a commitment to the pursuit of excellence, to fostering a sense of self-worth, providing the opportunities for each individual to reach his/her full potential and to forging strong visible links between the Coláiste and the local community. These aspirations are nurtured in a caring, safe and orderly environment, where equality, openness and a spirit of co-operation and mutual respect are promoted.

6th class students and their parents are welcome to visit the school and meet new Principal Mr. Peter Creedon in the Coláiste next Monday evening. More information is available on the school website
