On the River Suir stands Cahir Castle, It has a great heritage going back as far as the days when the Butler family resided within it, you can explore this rich history within the castle as there is plenty of information available to visitors the year round as well as a video presentation and guided tours. The castle has been kept in excellent condition and still contains its original structural elements; it is certainly one of the best examples of an ancient castle in Ireland today
