PLANS WELL ADVANCED FOR GAA FUNWEEK THIS SUMMER
Plans are well under way for our annual fun week, which will take place in our Duneske GAA field and school fields from Monday July 14th to Friday July 18th.
This is the highlight of the summer for many of our children. A wonderful feature of the week is the number of Cahir people who are living away from Cahir, but send their children back to stay with their families in Cahir so they can take part in the fun and games. We will have more information as time goes by but in the meantime please pencil in these dates so they do not clash with holidays and other activities.
Training continues for all players despite the bad weather. Our first under 21 match will be on January 24th or 25th. All footballers are reminded that mouth guards are compulsory since January 1st 2014 for all games and training sessions at all levels and age groups in Gaelic Football. Players will not be permitted to play games and will not be covered under the GAA player injury scheme if they do not comply with the mouth guard rule. For more information on mouth guards see the medical and Player Welfare section on GAA.ie.
The Draw the Joker was held in the Galtee Inn on Sunday night last. The jackpot was not won. Mary White won the ?100 consolation prize and the other prizes went to Sabrina Keogh, Yvonne Fahy and Regina Corbett. This week?s draw will be held in the Punters Rest on Sunday night at 9.30pm, and the jackpot is now ?7,600
The Annual general meeting of Cahir Camogie Club will be held in the club rooms next Friday night 17th January at 8.30pm. All parents of players are asked to attend as your help and co-operation is needed to ensure the survival of the Club. New members are always welcome. Presentation of Camogie medals to the under 16A County Champions takes place in Cahir House Hotel on this Saturday night at 8pm. Everybody is welcome to come along and support these wonderful Cahir girls.
