GAAs Craic: Cahir entertained at Mock Wedding of the Century.
Last night, Cahir House Hotel hosted the Mock Wedding of the Century, as Aishling Moloney and James Walsh tied the knot.A joint effort by Cahir GAA Club and Cahir Ladies Football Club, members donned their costumes to assume entertaining characters. The wedding, celebrated by “Fr Tadhg Howard” didn't pass without a few interruptions and laughs, including one objection in the form of a “baby” in a wheelbarrow, played by none other than Tommy Barrett. The speeches saw both interesting stories from the “families” of the bride and groom, and the wedding guests were treated to the arrival of two large turkeys, to top the night off. We don't want to give to much away as the night's entertainment will be on DVD and available to purchase in the coming weeks. During the speeches, all those who had helped in any way in the running of the event were thanked, including John Quirke Jewellers, Mr Mister, Cahir House Hotel for their hospitality, Hugie O' Donnell (MC on the night) ; as well as all those who sponsored prizes for the raffle which was held in aid of Cahir Day Care Centre.Reverse the Hearse played for the large crowd in the ballroom, followed by DJ Lee Grogan. The night was a roaring success, and a great time was had by all.
