Over €7 million for Tipperary Rural Regeneration projects – Newman Julian
3 projects in Tipperary have been awarded over €7 million between them under the latest round of Rural regeneration Funding from Minister Ring's Department.Mary Newman Julian said ‘It is fantastic to see 3 projects in Tipperary receive Rural Regeneration funding as there were only 26 successful projects throughout the country. It is also great to see a wide geographical spread for this funding with Roscrea, Templermore and Fethard towns set to benefit.Mary outlined that Roscrea Enterprise Digital and Social Impact Hub is set to receive €1,925,546 in funding to redevelop a vacant building in the town centre as a vibrant shared workspace and enterprise centre. ‘I am absolutely delighted that there is going to be significant investment in Roscrea Town, as there has been little or no investment in this area for many years. I have been involved in this project from the outset and it is wonderful to see this project receive the full amount of grant aid requested'Fethard Town Park development will focus specifically on health and well being with the provision of walkways, playing fields and a community pavilion and is set to received €2.6 million in rural regeneration funding. ‘This project in the heart of Fethard town, on a 9-hectare site, will provide superb facilities to the town of Fethard & hinterland over the coming years and will be an amazing asset when completed'€2,529,000 has been allocated for the ambitious redevelopment of Templemore Town Hall and this funding will facilitate the development of an enterprise and cultural centre with a civic plaza will and will greatly enhance Templemore town centre.Tipperary County Council were the lead applicant on both the Fethard Town Park Project and Templemore Town Hall project, and they must be congratulated on the enormous work and effort in submitting quality applications that succeeded in a very competitive process. Michael Murray and his team in North Tipperary Development Company were the lead applicant for the Roscrea project and they have succeeded in pulling together a great team to get this investment and make an impactful change in terms of jobs and enterprise for Roscrea town & surrounding areas.I would like to wish the three successful Tipperary projects under this round of rural regeneration funding all the very best and to thank Minister Michael Ring and his team for supporting rural Tipperary.
