JAMES O DONNELL ARTICLE

Tipperary Studies has published a fascinating article by Yann Blake on James O'Donnell, a 19th-century merchant from Cahir, County Tipperary. Born around 1829, O'Donnell emigrated to Newfoundland during a time of major economic and social upheaval. There, he built a successful career in the global spirits trade and local grocery and fish businesses. More than a businessman, he championed education and community development, leaving a lasting legacy in both Newfoundland and Ireland. His life story is one of enterprise, altruism, and resilience.
