Fourth call for Phase 2 projects has been announced for Cahir

Cllr Andy Moloney has been informed by Deputy Lowry this morning that the fourth call for phase 2 projects has been announced for Cahir. This means that the original RRDF €14.9m grant is approved and revised upwards to €16.955m to allow the new car park to be finished along with a start on the new library to commence once tender process is completed.

Moloney says that the increased fund of €1.65m will be a huge economic boost to the town which has become busier in recent years and improve pedestrian circulation and footfall to help retail and the hospitality sectors.

The completion of the car park and a new state of the art library within 2024 and improved public realm to come along with a new business hub in the old library should be a huge benefit to all.

Plans for new housing developments that are in process will all put pressure on existing services and the need to move with the infrastructural improvements in line with these new builds will compliment todays news of the RRDF grant.
