Ras Tailteann Coming To Cahir

Rás Tailteann 2024 Route Announcement: Cycling's Ultimate Challenge Returns to Cahir. The prestigious Rás Tailteann cycling race is set to captivate fans and riders alike as it returns to Cahir for the first time since 1967(stage finish). The 69th edition of the race, scheduled from May 22nd to May 26th, promises five thrilling stages spanning the stunning landscapes of Ireland.
Stage 3, penciled in for Friday, May 24th, will witness the race's fervent arrival into Cahir Town, anticipated to draw a massive crowd. The route, carefully crafted by Race Director Ger Campbell, showcases the resilience and beauty of Irish roads, featuring eighteen categorized climbs over 784.8KM.

"We are thrilled to unveil the Rás Tailteann 2024 route, designed to challenge and inspire both seasoned cyclists and spectators," expressed Race Director Ger Campbell. "With its return to historic cycling strongholds and exhilarating climbs, this year's edition promises an unforgettable journey."
Commencing from Tullamore, County Offaly, Stage 1 will traverse to Kilmallock, County Limerick, while Stage 2 will embark from Kanturk, County Cork, culminating in Sneem, County Kerry. Stage 3 will commence in Kenmare before arriving in Cahir.

Stage 4 will commence from Horse and Jockey, County Tipperary, culminating in Kildare Town, County Kildare, setting the stage for the grand finale.
The climactic Stage 5 will commence from Maynooth, County Kildare, and culminate in Bective, County Meath, where riders will navigate through a gripping 14.1KM finishing circuit, vying for the illustrious George Plant trophy.
With the event's rich history and challenging terrain, the Rás Tailteann 2024 promises to be an electrifying spectacle for cycling enthusiasts worldwide.
