Upcoming Lecture at Cahir Historical Society to Explore Life of William Rochfort

The Cahir Social and Historical Society is set to host its second lecture of 2024 in just two days, spotlighting the significant contributions of William Rochfort to the local community. Known for residing at Cahir Abbey House and overseeing the Shanbally Estate as Land Agent for the O'Callaghan family, Rochfort's story is a rich part of Cahir's history.

Margaret O'Sullivan, the invited guest lecturer, will delve into Rochfort's life, backed by her extensive research. O'Sullivan, who also shares a personal connection to Cahir through her grandfather, the esteemed local historian Timmy Looney, promises to offer a unique perspective on Rochfort's legacy.

This lecture offers a wonderful opportunity for community members to engage with Cahir's history and learn more about one of its notable figures through the lens of O'Sullivan's research and familial insights.
