While all members actually progressed through rounds, There were significant milestones for several. Dylan Sullivan and Adam Whitney both beat several opponents, narrowly missed out on medals, only losing the actual medal fight, but placed 5th overall in the world in their respective weight categories.

However, the big winner was Stephen Whitney who won the Masters team kata event, making him a world champion! This is an impressive landmark, as he was last year crowned Individual silver medalist and team bronze medalist at the European Championships, improving this time at the World Championships! Congratulations to Stephen on this phenomenal achievement.

The club will take a week off and begin back again training in the second week of September, and look forward to hosting the Tipperary Open karate championships in October.
