Cahir GAA Notes

RIP

We would like to offer our condolences to the O'Regan family and extended family of John RIP who passed away recently; our thoughts are with the O Regan family at this sad time.

Junior A hurling

Cahir bowed out of the championship at the quarter final stage last Wednesday, we were in Monroe to play Ballingarry, a tight first half with both teams exchanging points, on twenty minutes Cahir were down to fourteen men which made our task even harder, at the break we were down by two points 0-06 to 0-08, the second half belonged to our appoints with the extra man helping their cause, full time score Cahir 0-09 Ballingarry 0-16, we would like to thank all the panel of players for their commitment over the last few months, we also would like to thank the team captain Kieran O'Dwyer for his leadership throughout the year, and the management team led by Aidan Casey with John O'Connor, Michael O'Loughlin, Paddy O'Gorman and Brian Enright giving their time and effort to the team, thank you all, let's hope we can do it all again next year with even better results, full team from the match: Keelan Hickey, James Walsh, Kieran O'Dwyer, Patrick Meehan, Ryan O'Donnell, Mikey O'Connor, Ger Hally, Conor Casey (0-1), Darragh Howard (0-1), Ger Quinn, Benny Hickey (0-2), Liam Howard (0-2) Colin McEniry, Eoin Donaghy (0-1), Alan O'Connor (0-2),, Subs Used: Stephen Grogan, Liam Casey, Nicholas Reidy, Conor Cashman

Draw The Joker

The Abbey Tavern was the venue for our draw the joker game, a great night was had in the Abbey, with John and Bridie looking after us all, it was also the venue for the last gig of the Trad Fest which was held in the town over the weekend, well done to all involved in what was a big success by all accounts, this week's winners: Michael Keating, Helen Hunt, Brian O'Donoghue, Hannah Slater and Michael Phelan

The September Tipperary county draw was held last Friday evening, thankfully we had a small bit of luck in the club with Sandra Burke wining a Mr Mister Voucher to the value of €500, congratulations Sandra, thank you all for your continued support of the county draw.

One player leaving us is Brian McKenna, a great club man and an all-round nice guy, Brian is working in England so he also wants to play GAA over there which makes sense with travel etc, thank you for all you have given our club, you will be missed by your fellow players and the club in general, Brian we wish you all the best in your life ahead and some day you will wear the green and white again.
