Cahir Tidy Towns
The Cahir Tidy Towns group had a busy week with a lot of weeding completed and a general tidy up in the Mall and Cashel Road verges. The pride of place must go to the work on the old co-op site where we erected the old hoarding that had fallen last year and painted it with Murals. It's not a mad colourful mural but is clean and gets rid of an eyesore in that area. Thanks to Tina looby for advise and all those who came to print the hoarding. Thanks also to those who dropped by with refreshments. It's a pity that we had to take on this task but Cahir Tidy Towns had traced the site to 5 different links to find ownership before biting the bullet and doing the job. While it cost us some of our funds we would hope that it was money well spent.
With that in mind we will have an outdoor unused paint collection in the Market Yard from 7 to 8 on Wednesday 3rd June. Only useable paints please as we will be mixing them to re use around town.please have a look in the garage and donate any unused paints to Tidy Towns. Only exterior paints please. This will help us keep costs down.
Our entry form is ready for submission in time for the closing date this Friday and anytime after the bank holiday we need to be on the lookout for judging and ask everyone to take ownership of the town to try increase the marks in 2015.
We meet as normal on Wednesday at 7 and a reminder to any residents groups to register with Tipp fm for the clean up Tipp initiative on wed 3rd June for free clean up packs. This is a follow up to the Clean up Cahir project that has worked in town over the last 2 years.
