Win for senior footballers

The first round of the senior football championship for Cahir was played last Wednesday evening in Annacarty, where we took on J. K. Brackens in a close game with some fine point scoring. Cahir held out  and won the game by two points, a good start to where we left off last season, well done to all involved , The Team and scorers were as follows: Brian Enright, Eoin Donaghy, Ger Hally, Ryan Murphy, Sean O’Connor (0-2), Brendan Donaghy, Brian McKenna (0-1), Robbie Costigan, Aidan Casey, Benny Hickey (0-5), Paddy O’Flaherty (0-1), Aaron Murphy, Johnny McMahon (0-3), Dean Lonergan (0-1), James McGrath (0-1). Intermediate Camogie

Our ladies travelled to a very wet and windy Ragg last Sunday to take on Silvermines in the league final, sadly Cahir lost the game by four points, heads up ladies we are sure ye will have a great championship to look forward to, again well done for all the hard work put in by this team of players and mentors.

Junior Hurling Championship

First round of the junior hurling championship gets under way for Cahir next Saturday when we play Ballylooby/Castlegrace in Goatenbridge, time t.b.c.

County Clubs Draw

Time to enter our great county draw is fast approaching its closing date, so if anyone would like to join before it’s too late please contact our club officers as soon as possible (great prizes on offer, really its not to be missed).

Re fixtures

We do our very best to give you the dates, venues and times of all our matches in all hurling and football as accurately as possible, sadly not everything goes to plan, bad weather etc. so keep an eye and an ear to the ground regarding fixtures thank you.


The draw the joker was held in the Galtee Inn on last Sunday night and the Jackpot prize of €5,400.00 was not won. Cathal Hogan won €150 and other prize winners were Jo Donovan, Holly Feeney, Debbie Conway and Mary Walsh. This week’s draw is worth €5,600 and will be held in the Punters Rest.


Cahir Intermediate Camogie team had to give way to a stronger Silvermines team at a wet and windy Ragg on Sunday last losing out by 3.8 to 2.6. The game was in the melting pot with 8 minutes to go and just a point between the teams 2.6 to 2.5 however Silvermines finished the stronger scoring 1.2 to Cahir's point. It was an encouraging start to the intermediate grade for this young team and they can look forward to the championship with plenty to play for. Well done to Orla McEniry and Roisin Howard who played with the Tipperary Senior Team that defeated Limerick in the Munster semi-final. They now play Cork in the Munster Final on Saturday next in Cashel. The game is to be televised live on Sky 191.
