Cycle Against Suicide
The National Cycle around Ireland for suicide awareness will now make a stopover in Cahir. Tidy Towns Chairman and councillor Andy Moloney has been informed by c-saw coordinators, Breda Hewitt and Joe Leahy that Cahir will now be a schedule stopover on next Thursday 7th May.
Moloney says that the work been done on suicide awareness in Cahir in recent times has seen an increase in awareness and after a fun run last September and the recent Fashion Show with the Gravity Committee and C- Saw have just completed a Safetalk course in Cahir.
It's a great privilege to have the cycle stop in Cahir and personalities such as Bressie, Roz Purcell were just some on the route last year and as patrons they might possible make an appearance ageing in Cahir.
Cllr Moloney is asking the people of Cahir to come out and meet the cyclists on the bridge as they ride into town around 3.30pm. There could be anything upto 1000 on the tour. We are delighted to have the services of Paul Lafford playing music as they take their break. Thanks also to Dolans Super Valu and C-Saw for facilitating the stopover so please come out and show your support.
