Junior B hurling
The junior hurling championship started off last Tuesday evening in Ardfinnan, our team lead out by captain (pictured) Johnny B O'Brien, had a strong wind against them for the first thirty, and our opponents St. Marys capitalized on that fact taking scores from all over the park, one or two of them worthy of senior hurling status.
On eleven minutes Marys raised the green flag, Cahir now had it all to do and on the twenty second minute were behind by eleven points, just as that was noted Dylan Fitzgerald scored a goal to put a little colour back on the score board, Cahir scored another three points before the break to leave the score line of Cahir 1-04 St. Marys 2-12, at the restart eleven points down, whatever was said to the players by manager Tadhg Howard (pictured below) and his team at the break seemed to work, and the comeback was on, a couple of goals in the first third of the half rallied Cahir, our opponents struck four points in total for the second half with Cahir adding three points of their own.
Our men won the second half and they worked their socks off to try and reel in Marys but the half time score from them was just a little too far out of reach for our lads, first game in junior B this year so a lot to take from this game, and we will all look forward to the rest of this championship, Best of luck to the team and mentors for the rest of the championship and for the year ahead, final score Cahir 3-07 St. Marys 2-16, full team and scorers: Anthony Burke, John Sheehy, Aidan Casey, Dylan Walsh, Nicholas Reidy, Brian Enright, Johnny B. O'Brien, Dylan Fitzgerald (1-0), Benny Hickey (0-1), Tommy Magner (0-1), Tom O'Gorman (1-0), Eanna Heffernan, Gavin Berry, Johnny McMahon (1-5), Eoghan Quinlan. After a lot of weeks without games, it is all go from now on, and on Sunday morning it was the turn of our junior B footballers to take to the field, and boy did they take to the field, this was a one way game against Ballyporeen, Cahir were on top from start to the final whistle, the captain of this team for the year is Daniel Moloney (pictured), scores came from all over the place and with Ballyporeen not having a full complement of players there was only one outcome, never the less a good work out for Cahir, final score Cahir 7-21 Ballyporeen 2-02, good luck to all the team and mentors for the year ahead, full team and scorers: Anthony Burke, John Sheehy, Noel O'Gorman, Eoin O'Neill, James McGrath, Brian Enright (0-1), Keelan Looby (0-1), Daniel Moloney, Mark Casey, Tom O'Gorman (0-1), Benny Hickey (1-2), Nicholas Reidy (1-3), Rhys Chowtie (2-1), Johnny McMahon (2-8), Eanna Heffernan (1-0), Subs Used: Eoghan Quinlan (0-4), Patrick O'DonovanDraw the Joker

Hard luck to the county footballers last Sunday in Thurles, especially our club man Liam Casey, It's Summer Time
Last year we started its summer time campaign where we asked you all to take a picture of you in a Cahir GAA top and send in to us, it was a big success and for that reason we decided to do it all again, So no matter where you are, from Ardfinnan to America, Ballylooby to Bali make sure you bring your Cahir top of any kind (senior, juvenile, camogie and ladies football all are welcome) with you and get snapping and send them in to us at the email address at the end of our notes, or to our Facebook page thanks everyone.
