Tipp South YFG Holds AGM

The South Tipperary branch of Young Fine Gael held its AGM on the April 18th in Cashel. Se?n Kelly, MEP, and Noel J. Coonan, T.D., who were both in attendance at the meeting, spoke about the importance of youth engagement in politics, and also wished the incoming committee the best of luck for the year ahead. The elected committee are: TJ Heffernan (Chairperson), Rory O?Donnell (Vice-Chair), Kieran Tobin (Secretary), Malachy Scott (Treasurer), Kenneth Conlon (PRO), and Luke Cagney (Policy Officer). Thanks were expressed to outgoing members of the committee who didn?t seek re-election. Following the AGM, a debate was held by the Munster Regional Council of YFG, with branch members Kenneth Conlon and Malachy Scott emerging victorious. Closing the meeting, TJ Heffernan thanked existing members for their continued loyalty to the party, welcomed many new members in what he described as ?a true sign that young people believe in the honest and diligent work being carried out by government?, and stressed the need for a vigorous campaign of energy and clarity to ensure a ?Yes vote? in the upcoming Marriage Equality Referendum on May 22nd.
