Tipperary Special Olympic Club will be well represented at the Special Olympics Ireland games in Dublin from the 14th-17 June.

We have 12 athletes in a variety of sports from aquatics, athletics, badminton, bowling and men's 7 a side Soccer.

Since selection back in June 2017 the team have been very busy training every week.

Tipperary Special Olympics club is community based sports club set up back in 1993 in Canon Hayes Sports Complex Tipperary Town by volunteers and families we had 3 athletes at our first meeting back in July 1993 as they say from little acorns grow Mighty Oak trees now we have over 60 athletes with an intellectually disability from the age of 16 to 75 training in our club every week from aquatics in Sean Tracy pool, Canon Hayes Sports Complex and Ennis Road bowling alley. But none of this would be possible without our volunteers that give up their time each week to train our athletes. Thanks to everyone that supported our fundraising for the games and the running of our clubs over the years.

Over the years our Club have had athletes taking part in Special Olympics Ireland, European and world games

We wish our athletes the very best at the games and remember its taking part that counts

Most of all enjoy the games.
