This event is a downhill, road, point to point half marathon from Kilbehenny to Cahir, losing over 70 meters in height from start to finish. There will be refreshments after the race, showers, a two course meal, a technical T-shirt and prizes for the winners.
This is a beautiful course leaving Kilbehenny on the old road with the Galtee Mountains on your left and the Knockmealdowns on your right as you approach Cahir. The race finishes in the picturesque town of Cahir at Cahir Castle. There is a 70 meters drop from the start of the race to the finish so we have a downhill half marathon. The road surface is excellent. Over the distance there are a few small climbs but no major up hill sections.?
Our race is a Half Marathon, 13.1 miles in length, and is certified by Jones counter and accurately measured. The race starts at 10 am, also there will be registration on the day from 7 am to 9 am at the Duneske sports complex, Farranlassery, Cahir, Co Tipperary. Last Bus will leave Duneske in Cahir at 9 am arriving in Kilbehenny from Duneske at 10am. Race finishes at Cahir Castle.
There will be three water stations on route and a fourth at the finish line with fruit, goody bag and a meal at Duneske after the race.
Late registration takes place in the race headquarters in Duneske Sports Complex from 7 am to 9 am on the day. T-shirts and numbers will be handed out and buses leave here at 9 am for the start. After the race, showers will be available and a two course meal will be served here. The prize giving will be also take place at the fitness centre.
