Moloney -Speed limit solar signs requested in Cahir

Councillor Andy Moloney had tabled a motion for solar speed signs on the Ardfinnan Road and Rosemount in Cahir at this months meeting of the Clonmel Borough District.

Moloney had thanked the council for erecting Children crossing signs at both locations but more measures were needed.

There are a lot of Children using the Cahir Park facility now since the all weather was opened and traffic approaching from Ardfinnan were unaware of the volume of pedestrians using the facility. There is a need for further measures to ensure road safety is a priority.

It's the same up in Rosemount where once this young Estate now have young children walking down the town and crossing the roads.

While signs were erected in this area it also needs flashing warning signs as an extra measure.

Moloney claimed that he was well aware of the cost of such measures and a funding source needed to be found.

The engineer agreed to survey the area and come back to the councillor on the matter.
