Cahir GAA Notes

Our club would like to offer our condolences to the following families on the recent passing of Donal Burke (Keylong house) RIP, and Josie (Johanna) Cashman (Hogan Square) RIP, our thoughts are with all the families and extended families at this sad time, may they both rest in peace

No fixtures held due to the snow

Snow was the buzz word over the last week and as a result no fixtures of any kind were played, hopefully by the middle of this week things will get back to normal below are a couple of pictures of the park under a blanket of snow.

On the subject of the snow our PRO was walking back after taking the shots of our Park and came across a few club members in Castle Street early that morning and decided to take a photo of same members, what is unusual about the picture is the fact that not too many people can stand across the main street (Castle Street) in the town on a Friday morning without getting run over by traffic, such was the impact of the weather we after having, in the photo were (from L to R) Daire O'Brien, Colm O'Flaherty, Daniel Moloney, Gerldine O'Flaherty and Keelan Hickey, we like this one!

Next Saturday Night

Saturday next the 10th of March our club will present THE 2 JOHNNIES live in Cahir House Hotel, please buy your tickets as soon as you can, we are urging all members to support this gig as it is a club fund raiser, tickets from all club officers and the hotel, we hear it's a great show and we are looking forward to it, hope to see you all on the night.

Draw the Joker

Our weekly draw is still going and last Sunday we were in the Punters Rest, we want to thank you all for your continued support of our draw which is a big help to our club financially, this week's winners were: Jack Malone, Mary & Tess, John Kendrick, Andy O'Donnell and R. Coffey.

As we are on the Joker, next week our draw is a special one, all profits from next week's draw will go to the Tomás Kelly Fund, Tomás is a young club member and at sixteen he is just starting out on life's great journey, sadly just before Christmas Tomás had life changing complications, and as a result he has to adopt to all aspects of his new life and this will take many changes to Tomás and indeed for all his family, that's where we all come in, all sales of joker tickets next week will go towards the fund set up called, Thumbs UP for Tomás ,so if you can please buy an extra joker ticket this week , if buy one you might buy two, and if you buy three for €5 you might get another few, we thank you in advance of great sales this week, we will also be selling Joker tickets at the 2 Johnnies next Saturday night, so if you are going you might bring an extra couple of bob for this great cause, before we leave this, everybody in our club would like to wish Tomás and all the Kelly family the best of everything for the future and hope all goes as well as possible.

As always we want to hear from you, if you want to share an occasion, a birthday or whatever the news is, (pictures would be great) you can contact us at the following email address thank you
