Cahir's Casey is champion again

UCD made history last weekend after beating NUIG in the Sigerson Cup football final, and thanks to our club man Liam Casey who had a big hand in the outcome of the game scoring two late points including the winning score to help his team mates finish a late flurry to see out the win, this is Liam's second Sigerson Cup medal, he got his first in 2016 to become only the second club man to achieve the honour, in 2017 he was part of the team that got to final but lost, so this being his third final it meant a lot to him, Congratulations Liam, you made your college, parents, teammates and your club very proud, enjoy your win and well done from all in Cahir GAA Club, Liam is pictured below with his parents Betty and Liam, and the famous Sigerson Cup.

Not a lot of domestic action around this week so we will concentrate on Inter- County, congratulations to our senior hurlers who defeated Wexford on Saturday evening, well done to our senior ladies football team who had a great win v Tyrone on Sunday, which included four of our club players, Emma, Aisling, Aishling and Roisin, hard luck to the Minor Ladies county football who lost to Kerry also on Sunday last, again our club was represented by two players Rachel O'Donnell and Christine Delaney, in Camogie a win for the minors but the seniors and intermediates lost, in u14 ladies football a big win for the team including two Cahir players Abby Noonan and Niamh Costigan (pictured above) well done to all our county teams. One more bit of county news congratulations to Camogie member Emma Hyland (pictured below) who had the honour of being the mascot to lead out the Tipperary Hurlers last Saturday evening, well done Emma.
