Tipp Ladies Claim Second Victory Of League Campaign

Tipperary were hugely in command, as they claimed a comfortable 5-14 to 1-5 win over Laois in Ardfinnan.

Both sides began brightly, before Tipperary dug in, against a Laois side playing second tier Championship football for the first time in the history of the LGFA this Summer.

Level at 0-2 apiece after 10 minutes, Tipperary ultimately kicked on.

Gillian O'Brien and Caoimhe Condon with Tipp's early scores - Aisling Keogh and Claire Conlon offering a response for Laois.

But the Premier County ultimately hit form with 4-6 unanswered - Aisling McCarthy (1-7) and Róisin Howard (2-2) with a goal each by the 23rd minute.

The hat-trick was completed four minutes later with Aishling Moloney (1-2) on target. And by the break Tipperary led by 4-8 to 0-3, with Howard claiming her second goal.

Tipperary moved 19 points ahead early on the restart, before Laura Nerney bagged a 36th minute goal for the vistors.

But Tipperary had done enough damage, with Sarah Everard netting their fifth goal to put a gloss on the win two minutes into injury-time.
