Exciting Plans For Cahir Tidy Towns

Cahir Tidy Towns have embarked on an exciting new project that may be the last chance for the public to be associated with a Garden in Town.

Following on from the success of the The Memorial Garden, St Declan's Grove and the Cahir Movies Garden we are now Planning St Paul's Rose Garden.

Currently the Ha Ha is under renovations between the Erasmus Smith House and St Paul's Church and this will link Church Street with the Mall. We will have these works completed in the next 6 weeks and we want to transform the Hill overlooking the river.

We are trying to have a Mass of red color blazing from St Paul's that will be striking from the Main bridge.

As these works will have a substantial cost we will be selling sponsorship at €50 per name, to appear on a plaque to be erected on the site. If you want to remember a loved one we will put name and (rip) after it. We aim to transform the hill and Ha Ha and make it a beauty spot for boating during the summer. This may be the last chance for people to get involved in a project of this type and like previous ventures they have transformed the town.

Names and Townsland can be given to members or call to Business and training center where a receipt will be issued. We will leave this open until mid March and finalize details then.

On the domestic scene we have work to complete in the car park bed and also around the Ice house where Philip Quinn will carve more pieces.

We have cleared the grotto after Christmas and will be maintaining litter picking ongoing.

Painting will also start on the hoarding on the Clonmel Road and we our table quiz with a date to be announced next week.
