Cahir Have Won A Merit Award At The BOI Enterprise Award Ceremony

Cahir have won a Merit Award and €1000 at the BOI Enterprise award ceremony in Tullamore last week.

This competition started originally with 76 entries from all over Ireland earlier this year; and Cahir were entered in the category, “population of 3500 to 7000”

The committee were thrilled to be amongst the 40 finalists invited to the Gala Dinner in the Court Hotel Tullamore.

With only 29 prizes winners on the night the committee were thrilled to pick up the prize on behalf of the town. They also noted that we were also the only winners in Tipperary.

A big thank you must go to all the community groups, business people and everyone who came out and supported them in September when the judges came to Cahir.

The judges identified many enterprising ventures in the town and saw the vision shown by many groups to create Duneske. They also referred to the Cahir Park grounds, tidy town projects, business and enterprise centre and many start up businesses in both commercial and community enterprises.

Since the judging took place, Cahir people have excelled in the County Tipperary Chamber Awards with ABP taking the top prize and Jim Sheehan ( Surecom) and Gemma Robinson(Acorn Regulatory) all Cahir based winning their categories.

This was a great community venture and with the community involved, Cahir can go onto bigger and better things in the coming years.
