Cahir Meet And Train Notes

The Cahir Meet and Train Group have put in a hectic week attending many events all over the region while the current couch gang continue to prepare for the Ladies Mini Marathon next weekend in Clonmel.

On Saturday last we had 5 members who took part in the Dara Fitzpatrick 5km on Waterford Runway and the ladies race was won by Cahir woman,Aine Roche,who took home a lovely inscribed piece of glass and all runners received a lovely medal.

One member, Susan Moore then headed to Kilkenny for the Medieval Marathon where our Marathon gang were preparing for Dublin. Here we had 5 members taking part in the 30km challenge and Susan completed the full course.

On Sunday we had representatives in Charleville and Danesfort half marathons and all did well.

Meanwhile back at home the girls are finishing off their preparations for the Tipperary Mini Marathon this coming Sunday and this Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 they will complete the couch to 10km programme for them. There will be no run this coming Saturday morning as a result of this race.

Thanks to all who have helped the girls in their preparations for Sunday Where we have a huge entry. If anyone is around on Sunday please come along and support the girls who start at 11am and finish on the Waterford Road , clonmel from 11.30 is onwards.

We would lime to thank the local band Broken Bridges for their support on the day as part of the Evan Hickey Brain Surgery Fund. Donations will be accepted on the day as a member will be running for the event.
