Cahir Park 4 Clonmel Town 0

Cahir Park welcomed neighbours Clonmel Town to the Park for this eagerly awaited clash.

Both teams started well with Cahir dominating the early exchanges ,with both Rhys O Regan and the energetic Rhys Byron missing early chances.

Town had a decent chance to take the lead after 30 minutes but for a sharp save from Park keeper Dominik Mlynczak

Then the moment that changed the game,Sean Murphy took command of the ball in midfield, drove forward and from 25 yards hit an unstoppable shot to the top corner of the net giving the Town keeper no chance to put the Park 1-0 up on 44 minutes.

The second half started with Town on the front foot and should have equalised but for a fine save with his feet from the Cahir Park Keeper.

This was the spur that Cahir needed.

With some clever play Rhys Byron struck the Park's second on 50 minutes followed by some lovely individual skill from the busy Kieran Lambert who put the Park 3-0 up with a lovely finish to the top left hand corner on 54 minutes.

The game was over as a contest when on 60 minutes Dawid Jaros Karnia weaved his way through the Town defence to put the Park 4-0 up.

This was how the game finished.

Special mention to David Brannigan and the influential David Murphy who gave a masterclass in the Centre of the Cahir Park defence.

U14 Girls Result

Today saw the start of the school girls u14 league with our girl's hosting Tipperary town . The game was evenly matched for the first 15 mins with both teams creating chances . Cahir broke the dead lock through Lily Browne. With cahir on a high the game opened up as tipp pushed on to find a cahir counter attack through Emily Kirby to score cahir's 2nd of the game . Cahir were now in the driving seat. Emily Kirby got her second of the game 5 mins before the half make it 3-0 to cahir at the half time whistle. With the 2nd half starting cahir were pushed back by Tipperary who created a few chances but our defense stood tall Marshalled by holly and katie. Cahir soon got back on top with lilly taking on the tipp town defence to grab her 2nd of the day. It was all cahir from that point with Emily Kirby getting her hat trick before lilly added two more to her tally . With few mins left Emily finished off with her 4th following great work by lilly who was our girl of the match. Katie O Connor made a great dash up the pitch in the last few minutes to put her name on the score sheet. Best of luck to Tipperary Town for the season ahead.
