The Cahir Tidy Towns Group teamed up with Cahir Juvenile Gaa on Friday 2nd Jan for a walk up Slievenamon. A great turnout enjoyed fine weather and good company and adjourned back to the Gaa rooms for some refreshments. Thanks to the Gaa committee and Paula who stayed behind to have the tea ready.
On Saturday 3rd we made a presentation of €500 to c-saw the local suicide awareness group from the proceeds of a recent walk held by the Meet & Train section of our group. The presentation took place in the Shamrock Lounge and thanks to Hughie and Margaret & staff for the lovely refreshments as usual.
This group will be busy over the next 8 weeks with the 2015 operation transformation which once again we are registered with the national programme. We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 in Duneske for some walking and jogging and there is a level for everyone. The aim is that you will complete the 5km course by 22nd February. There is no charge to join in the exercise and all are welcome. We will have recipes and diets to follow on our FB page on. Cahir Tidy Towns weekly to help you along.
So it's a busy start to the year even though Tidy Towns should be on a break but some members are still on litter duty and repairs if anyone wants to get involved.
We can also register Residents Committee at this time of year and have them ready to get their litter packs in the spring.
