U12”D” South hurling final

Cahir 4-04 Carrick Davins 5-05

On Saturday last our U12 second team travelled to Monroe to take on Davin's (1st team) in the south final. From the off Cahir took the game to the opposition showing no inferiority to their hotly tipped opponent's. Being a much smaller team Cahir moved the ball with pace and defended brilliantly while executing some great scores, going in at half-time Cahir were a goal up. The start of the second half saw Davins get two quick goals to take the lead but this did not dishearten Cahir as we rallied again to peg the scores level. It was only in the last couple of minutes did the Davins manage to pull clear, hard luck to everyone in the end but it is a great achievement to reach a South Final. The team were very well prepared and coached by Tom, Paddy and Majella. No doubt there will be better days ahead.

U16 hurling championship

On Monday next (14th) our young men play St. Marys in Cahir (the Park) throw in 7-30pm , again if you can please come along and support the future of our club.

All Ireland U16 Hurling Tournament

On Saturday 26th August Cahir will host team's involved in the Arrabawn U16 hurling All Ireland Tournament, last held in Cahir four years ago this has proved to be a very successful tournament and this year will be no different with all of the top teams in the country taking part. We will be holding games in our main field and in Duneske from 10:30am onwards with a semi- final at 3:15pm in the main field (the park),Cahir GAA club are very proud to have been included to host these games and as you can imagine it will take a big effort to pull this off, so we would urge all our members to give a couple of hours to this project if you can, as in the past when we all come together we can do a very good job, and when our visitors leave for their own clubs they leave with great admiration and good memories of Cahir GAA Club, and on Saturday the 26th it will be no different, come along and give a hand no matter how long or whatever you can help out with it will be very much appreciated.
