Cahir GAA Notes

U21 football championship

Our u21 footballers travelled to Monroe last Saturday to play Ballingarry in round two of the competition; it was our opponents who got off to the brighter start opening their account with the first two points, a tired looking Cahir side added a couple of points to stay in touch with Ballingarry who added another five points to take the lead going in at half-time, with the score line, Cahir 0-03 Ballingarry 0-07, after the break our young men just took seven minutes to pull back and draw level at 7 points each, the turning point came shortly after that when ( what must be said a lucky goal) the green flag was raised for the first and only time in the match, the goal seemed to undo all the hard work Cahir put in, from then on both teams added two points each to their scores to see out the game final score Cahir 0-09 Ballingarry 1-O9. The team and scorers were as follows: Rares Stoica, Keelan Looby, Stephen Grogan, Cavan McKenna, Ryan Murphy, Brendan Donaghy (0-1), Patrick Meehan, Mikey O'Connor (Captain) (0-1), Conor Cashman, Darragh Howard, Brian McKenna, Eanna Heffernan, Dylan Fitzgerald (0-1), Alan O'Connor (0-5), Jack Murphy (0-1). Subs Used: Sean Murphy

STARS IN THEIR EYES

Following on from last year's wonderful 'STRICTLY COME DANCING', Cahir GAA Juvenile, Ladies football and Camogie clubs are staging 'STARS IN THEIR EYES' on the 24th and 25th March in Cahir House Hotel. Acts are practicing hard, and the 2 Johnnies as MC's will ensure it's another night to remember. Tickets from Cahir House hotel and any club committee members don't leave it too late last year sold out quickly thanks.

County Results

Another great weekend for our county football teams, first the senior men who beat Laois with their new manager Peter Creedon, (well known to us all in Cahir) and well done to club man Liam Casey who started in midfield and got on the score sheet with a point, and to our ladies who had a fine win over Meath, we mentioned all the Cahir girls on the panel last week but we forget one lady who is on that panel and just coming back from injury Aofie Corcoran well done everybody.

Draw the JOKER
