Cahir Park AFC Notes

Munster V Leinster Footballforall

What a great day was had in Cahir park on Saturday last and brilliant displays of football to wow the crowds that braved the elements. The rain did not deter the players of Cahir park and Limerick who played the first game and gave a great performance. The main event was Munster v Leinster and again the skills and football on show from start to finish is testament to the brilliant work being done by clubs with the Football for all teams. Leinster came out winners today but hopefully Munster will claim the next battle. Well done to Michael Kelly and Eddie Kennedy and their troops for all the hard work and for making today a great success. Nobody went home hungry after being well looked after by club members.

Munster Played very well 1st quarter with a goal from Dion Kennedy. Leinster drew level late on to make it 1-1 , 2nd quarter saw munster go 2-1 up goal from Cian Cotter. Again Leinster equalised and then they took the lead 3-2. The 3rd quarter Leinster took a big lead with 4 goal without reply to lead 7-2. The 4th quarter reply with 2 goals from Cian Cotter to finish 7-4 to Leinster well done everyone . Stand out players for Munster were MOM Dylan Butler, Matthew Collins, Daniel Kelly, Jack Hickey to name but a few. Well done to all involved in today's game. Next weekend Cahir Park Footballforall Team travel to Evergreen to take part in a blitz. Best wishes to all the lads taking part.

Unfortunately both our Junior games fell foul of the weather last weekend.

Our u16s went down 3 1 to Clonmel Town last Saturday in the league. This is a set back to the boys but hopefully they will bounce back in the next game.

Our u10 girls hosted a blitz on Sunday morning in Cahir Park Astro Pitch. The weather didn't deter these though girls and they put on a fantastic display in all three games. They scored loads of goals and thanks to Cashel Town and Killenaule for travelling on the day. Cahir Park Girls were Holly Tobin, Grace English, Ava McKenna, Olivia Darcey, Caoimhe Leahy, Jessica Davis, Kayla Frazer, Katie Tobin, Amy O Connor, Sienna Ferris, Casey Butler, Zoe Conway, Tia Kelly, Eire O Connor, Heather Kiely. Training continues every Tuesday night at 7pm. Reminder of the soccer sisters camp in Cahir Park at easter, registration is online at fai soccer sisters.

Our All weather pitch is very busy and we are hosting an average of three collage games per week during the day. We also held host to Tipperary Minor Footballers on Thursday night last for a training session and they were very impressed with the facilities. There are limited Slots available from time to time contact 052 7443850 for further info. The very successful 100 club fundraiser is almost full .
