Irish Water Called To Sort Outrath Issues.

Cllr Andy Moloney has called on Irish Water to replace the mains pipe from New Inn village to Newtown Cross with immediate effect. This stretch of pipe along by Outrath has been bursting too frequently in recent months and at a meeting with IW officials on Monday, Moloney called for drastic measures.

While the local councillor says that not every pipe can changed immediately, this stretch has been proving to be very active with breaks and water outage to the village and the line stretches as far as Ballinattin on the East and back via Knockgraffon to the bounds of Cahir Town and had been broken on 3 occasions since Christmas.

The officials said that recent monitoring of lines showed this area to be particularly troublesome and would be prioritised when funding became available.
