Cahir GAA Notes

After last weekend's debacle (game off/on, venue no venue.) we finally had some action on the pitch from our U21 footballers. We had to go to Killenaule to play Killenaule, the defending champions (Cahir) got off to the perfect start when Conor O'Brien raised the green flag with just minutes on the clock, Cahir added another goal scored by Conor's cousin, Stephen Grogan, with a strong wind against them our young men went to the break with the minimum advantage, half time score 2-01 to 1-03. The second half saw both teams exchange scores, under new captain Mikey O'Connor (congratulations Mikey) Cahir had the upper hand in this game but found it difficult to pull away from their opponents but done enough to see out the game and take the win, final score 3-04 to 2-05, well done to all the panel and management. The team and scorers were as follows: Rares Stoica, Keelan Looby, Ryan O'Donnell, Cavan McKenna, Ryan Murphy, Brendan Donaghy ()-1), Conor McKenna, Mikey O'Connor (Captain), Conor Cashman, Jack Murphy, Stephen Grogan (1-0), Eanna Heffernan (1-0), Conor O'Brien (1-0), Alan O'Connor (0-3), Darragh Howard. Subs Used: Brian McKenna, Colin McEniry

County Draw

The February draw took place last Friday night and at long last we had a Cahir winner in fact we had two, it's been a long time coming as this year has been a lean one for us but we cannot do anything about that so well done to John Butler and Liam Wall on their wins, each won €500, spend it well gentlemen, and just to say to all of you who joined the draw with us thank you and we hope we can rely on your great support for the next county draw starting in May 2017.

Draw The Joker

Our weekly fund raiser was in the Galtee Inn last Sunday evening, again we thank you for your great support; the winners were as follows: Leisha Cagney, Stephen Duggan, Hugh O'Donoghue, Marie Ryan and Gerry O'Donnell.

Training Lights

A big thank to Benny Hickey and his crew who done a brilliant job refurbishing and adding new lights to the training pitch in the park, a great investment for the future.
