Cahir Meet and Train Notes

Cahir Meet and Train will host the RTE operation transformation 5km next Saturday 18th as the current season comes to a close. Registration for the event is from 9am and warm up starts at 9.50 with official run timed for 10am. There is no entry fee but a donation to Cahir County Fleadh committee would be welcome as they will host the county Fleadh in May.

Our 5 groups have been in training since early January for this event and everyone from walkers to elite runners are welcome and that includes children but must be supervised on the road. Our main attention will be in the current couchies who underwent the couch to 5km programme and this will be their first attempt to run the distance. We can report that training has went well and we are hopeful that results will be good.

There will be refreshments provided at the finish .

We would like to thanks the Cahir Men's Shed for their continued support of the event in stewarding and the Gardai and civil defence for guidance. Thanks also local media Maria Taylor and Cahir Media for their coverage over the past 8 weeks and tipp sports partnership for promoting the event.

Special mention must go to our sponsors this year and Elaine who did Trojan work in organising the t-shirts. We would like to get a picture with the sponsors at 9.30 so if we could get all those in the group present for 9.30am.

We will continue every Tuesday and Thursday after the event at 7.30 and if anyone wants to celebrate their achievements next Saturday we would love you to join us at the Tidy Towns Table quiz in the shamrock lounge at 8.30.

Please come along on Saturday and complete the 5km route at your own pace and enjoy the fresh air. That's this coming Saturday 18th for registration from 9am with run at 10sharpand this years charity is Bringing the County Fleadh to Cahir.
