The Cahir Tidy Towns Group have completed the cutting of grass in Cahir Abbey and Seamus Shealy is to be complimented for the help maintaining this area. We are nearly complete on the Ice House with lights going into it next week along with the gate.
We are teaming up with the Playground in Duneske for a Family Zombie walk on Monday 27th October at 12 midday. There will be prizes for the best costume, Best dressed Family and Most Scary. The walk will be around the Colaiste loop via the Library, Clonmel Road and refreshments in Duneske after the event. Face painting also on the day. Proceeds to the playground so let?s starts getting ready now.
We will also be hosting a Wee Ireland Collection of unwanted electrical items on Saturday 25th October from 10am so do get your old appliances down for disposal. Last year over 8 tonne was collected.
We will also be having Santa visits in the Dovecote from 2-4 on Saturday and Sunday 6th & 7th December and also 13th 14th Dec with real elves and Mrs Claus. Admission with present supplied with be a mere ?5.
Plans are also been put in place for the very Successful Operation Transformation in the new year but booking will need to be to Duneske. Some great weight losses were reported last year and im sure we will all need to shed a few pounds after the overindulgence at Christmas.
We have a good team of Transition Year students working with us at the moment and they are planning events with us. Maybe we can start a Youth Tidy Towns next year to incorporate these events with us.
Deposits also been taken for the Christmas Meal and weekly payments are taken also.
