Cahir Park AFC Notes

It was a mixed weekend of results for our Junior and youths teams. We are in a great position to be strong enough to have two teams at both junior and youth level this year. Our Junior A team went to Rosegreen on Sunday morning with high hopes of getting a good result but having started brightly and should have been well in control they conceded two late goals to loose 4 2. Our goals came from Liam Casey and Shane O Neill. It goes without saying we need to find more consistency and go on a good run in order to be in the shake up at the end of the season. Our second team had a good 3 1 away win against Killenaule also on Sunday morning . In the youths FAI Cup we were up against a strong St Michaels side and ended up losing 5 2. Our Second youths team bet Kilsheelan Utd in the Youths Cup on a 2 1 score line.

Our U14 boys drew 1 all with Peake Villa on Saturday in a game played on the new Astro Pitch . The lads played very well and we're unlucky not to come away with all 3 points.

Well done to our u16 girls who headed to Killenaule on Sunday morning. Numbers were depleted due to injury, trials and other commitments but these girls battled on regardless. Despite everything going against them the girls played really well and proved they are not going to be an easy force to be reckoned with. Well done girls for the performance. We cant ask any more of ye with the hard work put in each week.

Best of luck to our girls in the county trials at the minute and also to our boys who are having trials at numerous age groups.

Huge well done to our own Robin Carey on her fantastic performance with Munster this weekend. This is a wonderful achievement for Robin , her family, friends and everyone at Cahir Park are very proud of you.

Training on Tuesday and Friday night at 7pm for our girls teams from u8 to u16. New players always welcome . We have received loads of enquiries regarding new players looking to join the club anybody looking for info regarding times of training sessions or renting the all weather pitch can contact David in the office on 052 7443850.

Our U8s hosted a blitz on Sunday morning with teams from Clonmel Town St Michaels and Mullinahone taking part. It's fair to say the lads had a great morning and things are looking very bright for the future of the club. Our Academy continues every Saturday morning at 9.15am in Cahir Park Astro Pitch .

Cahir Park Last man Standing is starting up again next week please contact David or Colm Lonergan to be in with a chance of winning the €1000 prize, all proceeds go to the All Weather pitch fund .

Best of luck to Suzie and Sarah with their new venture Cairde le Chéile. Brilliant idea and hopefully will be of benefit to many of our members for years to come. Enjoy every minute of it girls from all your friends at Cahir Park AFC.
