Eileen Anderson Unsung Hero Award

Cllr Andy Moloney, Mayor of the Clonmel/Cahir Borough District is calling on all sections of their community to nominate their unsung hero for the Eileen Anderson Award.

Mayor Andy Moloney along with Clonmel Rotary President,Peter o Donnell and Chairman Darren Ryan have launched this years awards to recognise people who carry our invaluable voluntary work in their community.

Last year was the first year that nominations were accepted from outside the old Borough of Clonmel due to the change in the boundaries and 3 of the 5 shortlisted coming form the old Cahir Area of the district.

The current holder of the award is Cahir man and Kerry native Dermot O Connor who was a worthy winner through his involvement in Meals on Wheels, Tidy Towns and a lifetime devotion to the GAA.

There are many in our society that go through life helping in the community for the good of others without ever getting any recognition and this is an opportunity to nominate an unsung hero in your area.
