Cahir Tidy Towns and Meet & Train Notes
The Cahir Tidy Towns Group planted a new bed over the weekend in front of the Castle. 25 Sponsors were invited to help with funding at €50 per head and their name would be put on a plaque in the bed in recognition of their donation.Next weekend is another big occasion for us as we are getting involved in the Funday Sunday in the Inch Field. We will have plenty of side shows and kiddies races as well as the old favourites such as Fish the Bottle, penalty Shoot, golf putting, pony rides and much more. There will also be a dog show by Maureen and the Boat race by the rowing club and music on the Square. Admission is free to the event and so are the races and soccer blitz.Meanwhile we will maintain our Tidy Town duties and meet as normal on Wednesday at 7pm.Cahir Meet & TrainThe meet and train group will team up with Duneske playground to raise funds for maintenance and insurance next Saturday evening and host the Fair of Cahir 5km. Registration is in Duneske from 5.45 with race at 6.30.Race starts at back gates of Duneske and heads don by Colaiste, turning right out the Cashel Road almost to the by pass and turns to head back to town to finish in the square to the music of DJ Eoin. Those who use the playground with small children can turn at the colaiste junction and just head into town and finish in the square. At least that way the kids will have done their bit for the playground which is free to use all year around and have supported its upkeep. Entry is €5 per head or €10 per family. There will be medals and prizes. So do come along and support the playground. Enquiries to Aine in Duneske.
