Fair Of Cahir 2016

Friday 26th August

Programme of Events

7pm- On Friday 26th August in Cahir House Hotel Ballroom &

Garden room come and see a Free Music Event with BBQ Bouncy

Castle, face painting, children's games and DJ Eoin Hennessy on site.

7.30pm- The Fair of Cahir 2016 will be officially launched by Mayor

of the Clonmel/Cahir borough District Cllr Andy Moloney.

7.30pm - Launch of the Queen of the Fair 2016. Contestants will be

interviewed by the 2 Johnnies! Johnny B O'Brien & Johnny

McMahon, (official private interviews by Judges will take place in

Cahir House Hotel on the night)

8pm- Rose of Cahir Interviews. New feature with ladies aged 25 &

above.

8.30 - 10.30pm - free Live Music on stage in Cahir House with

Dedication- Thin Lizzy Tribute Band

Come along and enjoy the first night of the Fair of Cahir 2016 with

lots of laughs and dancing at this free Music family event!

Saturday 27th August

9am - 1pm - Farmers Market in castle car park with extra stalls

11am - 1pm Guided Town Walk with Dr. David Butler meeting at

Tourist Office

5.30pm - 6.15pm- Registrations at Duneske Sports ‘Fair of Cahir 5k'

in aid of Community Playground. Race starts in Duneske at 6.30pm

and finishes is in the Square. Entries are €5 per person/€10 family.

Medals sponsored by Darren Ward Jewellers.

6pm - Stage Open with Compare Gerry Duffy.DJ Owen on stage till

5k Race finish.

7.15pm (approx after race finish)2 piece band ‘Red Melody' on

stage

8.30 - 10pm- ‘The Waheys' live band on stage to finish.

Sunday 28th August

1pm- 5pm approx- Funday Sunday in The Inch Field with Funfair in

in Castle car park, Fun Dog Show sponsored by John Quirke

Jewellers & Maureen Calvert, BBQ, Giant Inflatable Slide, Music,

stalls, kiddie's races; fish the bottle, penalty shoot, soccer blitz, pony

rides, book sale, bouncy castles, amusements, free exhibitions and

much more. There will also be the Queens and Roses to meet in the

Inch Field on the day. Fun & games for all the family (other stalls

welcome, call number below)

2pm-Fun Dog Show in the Inch Field sponsored by John Quirke

Jewellers, Maureen Calvert & Maxi Zoo. Pedigree puppies judged

first. Entries from 1pm

11.30am - 5.30pm- Wheely boat rides up river from Slipway by

Community Hall. Boat can take 2 wheelchairs or one motorised

wheelchair and 3 people.

1pm - 4pm - Dragon Boat on River with the Suir Dragon Paddlers

(Dragonboat Team)at the Mall from 1pm to 3pm will give a

demonstration and trips on the boat for all. The Dragon Boat is 44

feet long (longer than an articulated lorry) and can seat up to 22

people so lots of fun guaranteed!

4pm - Crazy Boat Race with prizes sponsored by Dolan's Supervalu,

organised by Cahir Rowing Club, trophies sponsored by John Quirke

Jewellers(meeting at slipway by Community Hall at 3.30pm and

6pm - Stage Open with Compare Gerry Duffy.DJ Owen on stage till

5k Race finish.
