Cahir Park AFC Notes

Paddy Purtill Cup

Cahir Park 3 Cashel Town (b) 3 AET

Having started slowly we took the lead after 20 mins when the ever reliable James Darcy scored from the penalty spot. The visitors hit back straight away to leave the half time score one each. On the hour mark Cashel went in front, we then had a period of sustained pressure and drew level when Stephen Burke headed home from close range .

No further score meant the game went to Extra time. Mark Costigan put us in front with a header from a free kick in the first period of extra time , it stayed that way till the last kick of the game when Cashel equalised to send the game to penalties.

Anthony Burke proved to be the hero saving 4 pens as we won the shoot out 4-3

Our u14 girls travelled to killenaule Sunday morning and gave a very impressive display of soccer. It was a pleasure to see the footwork and team effort that the girls played all through the game. They came away with a 2-0 win, both scored by Leah Fitzgerald who despite carrying an injury was unlucky not to get a hat trick. Well done everyone.

U14s double hopes were dashed tonight in an 11 goal thriller in the TSSDL Cup

Clonmel Celtic 6-5 Cahir Park.

A thrilling and entertaining game for the neutral saw the U14's lose for the first time since the opening game of the season. They lost nothing in defeat as all played and battled hard throughout. This was their third game in four days for some the madness of the league at present. This doesn't take away anything from Clonmel Celtic who never gave up. We wish them the best for the rest of the competition. We look forward to our final 2 league games to finish out a very successful season for the players.

Hard luck boys you can still enjoy winning a league title which doesn't come easy.

Our Ladies team is starting up if interested contact Linda on 086 4044909 great way to have some fun and stay fit.
