Cahir Park AFC Notes

Busy week in Cahir Park as we hosted the U15 Ireland International boys who played Czech Republic in what can only be called a thriller, the game had end to end drama showcasing some Ireland's top schoolboys. Ireland came out on top winning the game 3-1. It was great to see such a large crowd in the park with approximately 2000 people from young to old. We would like to thank all those that came out to support the boys in green and especially the local schools who attended. This was a great way for us to showcase our club and with our All Weather project well underway we can see a lot more of these games in the club which will be good for the local economy so please support our 100+ by contacting any committee member.

Our U15s Premier team travelled to Peake Villa Sunday afternoon in a hard fought game with Peake Villa coming out on top winning 1-0. With only one league game left against fellow table toppers St.Kevins who have a game in hand this is a most win game for the Park boys if they have any chance on winning the league title. So heads up lads all to play for yet.

Great display by our u14 girls Friday night in their league encounter with Burncourt /Kilbehenny in duneske. It was a close game with Cahir's Shannon Morrissey hitting the net twice. Cahir were misfortunate with injuries during the game. Final score 2-2. Keep up the good work girls.

U12 Premier Result Cahir Park 3 - 3 Peake Villa Scorers Evin O Regan (2) Conor Murphy. Well done Boys good result against 2nd on the table and with a few games in hand still have a good chance to win the league.

U16 Premier hopes still alive after a good win Saturday morning away to Clonmel Town. Clonmel Town 2 Cahir Park 3 Goals Nicholas Reidy 1 & Edmond 0 Dwyer with 2 Well done boys.

Cahir Park 4 St Kevins 3 fantastic performance from the park under 16 Championship squad scorers on the day David Clifford, Dylan Ryan and a brace and two assists from Ben Keating puts one of the most fancied sides out of the cup.

Congratulations to Cahir Park U14's on winning the Championship League this morning in the Park, it was a hard fought win against our neighbours Burncourt/Vee with nothing between the sides. Game was 1-1 at halftime and Cahir knew they needed the win to clinch the title but Burncourt\Vee knew if they beat the Park boys that they had a chance for the title as well. With both pressing hard for that win it was Cahir that got the winner with 5 minutes to go. Well done the all involved first trophy for 2015/16 in the club. (Picture Attached)

Well done to our U16s Wednesday night winning 2-1 both goals from Nicholas Reidy great team performance.

Our U12 girls also played Wednesday night against Peake villa in Duneske. Cahir were quick off the mark and unlucky not to get an early goal. Peake Villa missed some chances too before Cahir hit the back of the net. Peake Villa equalised before half time. Both teams battled well in the second half, with villa getting their second goal. The Cahir girls were unlucky not to get a well earned draw with the final result 2-1. Brilliant performance by the girls. Well done.
