“Its ok not to feel ok”

The Cahir Wellness Network was set up in October 2015 to facilitate groups that were promoting Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Awareness in the area. We have teamed up with South Tipperary Mental Health Consumer panel and C-Saw suicide awareness. The Consumer Panel and Cahir Wellenss Network teamed up for events late last year and at Christmas we were involved in the Green Ribbon Campaign. We will be attending the 2016 launch on April 20th in the main Guard , Clonmel and will be using their expertise at the Cahir Community Expo event in May as this is the Green Ribbon month. Other events are planned during the year.

The C-Saw group have also been a big support to us in holding a Safetalk course and we have 5 trained members already. Cahir woman Breda Hewitt was inspirational in getting the Suicide course to visit the Colaiste recently and this was well received by the students. They also took the National Suicide Cycle to Cahir last year and will do so again this coming year on May 4th. We would like to see more get involved with the group and take part in some of the Courses that will come up in the year ahead. The darkness to light walk in aid of c-saw (community suicide awareness workers) will be held in Clonmel on Sunday 24th April at 5am and registration is available from committee members of c-saw or locally with Andy Moloney. Anyone wanting more information should contact Andy or secretary Olivia Lynch. As we are a new Group we welcome new members to an open meeting on April 20th in the Shamrock Lounge. A new committee will be formed once the group is in full swing. The theme of the group is that “its ok not to feel ok”. Don't be afraid to ask for help.
