On Sunday April 3rd South Tipperary Cycling Club will host its annual sportive The Vee Valley Challenge 2016. Now in it's third year the Vee Valley challenge has become a highlight of the cycling calendar and attracts clubs and individual cyclists from around Munster.This year's sportive is being held in aid of the Paul Cunningham. A native of Ardfinnan, Paul has been wheelchair bound since a tragic accident and all profits from the event will be donated to his rehabilitation fund.The sportive comprises two routes. A 50k route suitable for beginners and up and a 110k route for more experienced cyclists. Both routes include the iconic Vee climb which came to public prominence after featuring in the Nissan Classic in the 1980s. While featuring spectacular views along the way the climb is not severe and is suitable for most levels of experience.The event starts and finishes in Clogheen with a halfway stop in Lismore. Registration is €20 and will be held from 8:30am in St Pauls Community Center Clogheen. The event itself starts at 10am. Full details of the routes can be found on www.southtippcyclingclub.com
