Cahir Tidy Towns Group Notes

The Cahir Tidy Towns Group were delighted to receive a prize in the Community Group section of the St Patrick's Day parade. Thanks to all who participated and to Jim Quinlan who organised the transport and Gerry o Donnell for allowing us use his premises to prepare the float.

This week was the first week since December that we could really tackle the few jobs in the Garden that we needed to do. We might be able to get a run at the St Declan's Grove now that there has been some drying. There are some of the bulbs flowering in the grove and it may be next year before we see the full effect of the planting. We are putting a mulch track through it at the moment and will have to do a kerb along the path. We would like to thank those who have sponsored family trees in the garden for your patience but this is a big project for us and we want it right before the launch.

We are also delighted with the news that money is secured for new toilets but will probably wait until September for a start to avoid the main part of the tourist season. We also look forward to work on the Ha Ha in the coming months.

We would like to encourage all those who can do, to think about painting the shopfronts of they are in need of a lick of paint. In fairness most of the town is looking good after the winter. We will start back next week with the Wednesday night activities when we meet in the Market Yard at 7pm.
