U21s start with win

On Sunday last Cahir played Clerihan in Clonmel in the first round of the U21 B football championship. Against a strong wind and an opportunist goal by Clerihan Cahir seemed to be on the back foot until a point by Alan O Connor settled our lads and they went on to add another four points to leave the game level at half time 0-05 to 1-02. After the break a now settled Cahir team added another 9 points (notably 6 points in all by Aaron Murphy). Cahir went on to win the game, over all with bad conditions, players missing, first game of the year we can be happy with the performance and well done to the younger players who stepped up to plate today and made a name for themselves, again well done to all players and management, final score Cahir 0-14 Clerihan 1-07. The team and scorers were as follows: Rares Stoica, Keelan Looby, Oisin Moloney, Patrick Meehan, Ryan Murphy, Brendan Donaghy, Colin McEniry, Mikey O'Connor, Conor Cashman, Eanna Heffernan, Brian McKenna (0-2), Aaron Murphy (0-6), Darragh Howard (0-2), Ian Flannery (0-3), Alan O'Connor (0-1). Subs Used: Stephen Duggan, Conor Mckenna, Conor O'Brien.
