SURECOM NETWORK SOLUTIONS CALLS FOR SUPPORT TO BECOME THE NATIONAL ‘PUBLIC’ CHAMPION FOR IRELAND IN THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS AWARDS

Tipperary company, Surecom Network Solutions, is competing for the title of ‘National Public Champion' in this year's European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM, as the public vote opens.

Surecom, already named as one of the National Champions in the independently judged part of the competition, has posted a video of its company online at www.businessawardseurope.com giving a powerful insight into the story of their business and its success.

Competing against all other Irish National Champions for the public vote, the company with the most votes will be named ‘National Public Champion' for Ireland on 7th March 2016. The first phase of the online voting is now open until 26 February 2016.

Jim Sheehan, CEO, Surecom says: “Surecom is proud to represent Ireland and our home county of Tipperary in this competition, on the European stage. We are hoping that the public will watch our video and vote for us. The public vote means a great deal as it is both our existing and potential customers and clients giving their approval to our success.”

Surecoms business and success is outlined in their video entry with Jim attributing the company's achievements and growth to “Our People”, having grown the company from two to over ninety employees, engineering excellence, business acumen and hard work of Surecom's employees that has driven the company's growth to an international level.

The Telecommunications Engineering and Project Management company celebrated 10 years in business last year and offers employment for over 90 people locally and nationally. Having been recognised for its successes and continued growth through Deloitte Best Managed Companies annual awards 2010-2015 and Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in 2009, Surecom hopes to add the European Business Awards National Public Champion to the list of achievements.

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “Last year the public vote generated over 170,000 votes from across the world. It is a very important part of the Awards as it gives these entrepreneurial companies another way of showcasing their achievements.”

Separately, the independent judging panel in the European Business Awards will review and score all the video entries plus written entries and select a final top 110 Ruban d'Honneur recipients who will face the judging panels in the final stage of the competition. The overall winner from each category will then be announced at the same time as the European Public Champion at the Gala Event in June.

The European Business Awards is now in its 9th year. It attracted over 24,000 businesses to the competition last year and in the public vote generated over 170,000 votes from across Europe.

The European Business Awards was created to recognise and promote business success and support the development of a stronger business community throughout Europe. Awards' primary purpose is to support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe.

In the 2014/15 competition, all EU member markets were represented plus Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Their combined revenue exceeded €1.5 trillion, and together they generated profits of over 60 billion Euros.
